Having been a football referee for many years, the word "Onside" has a positive connotation for me. It's with that in mind I have named my business Onside Advisory in the hope I can bring positive outcomes to those I engage with and help keep them "Onside"!
I set up Onside Advisory in July 2022 after having spent the last 40 plus years in employment with two very well-known business advisors, and a Money Advice and Debt Counselling service which I helped establish for Strathclyde Regional Council back in the 1980s. Over this extended period of time, I have built up an extensive network of contacts who work with me to help provide solutions to help navigate the financial challenges facing businesses.
Equally, they support me in assisting some excellent businesses which are on a growth trajectory. In these cases, I act as a sounding board for the directors and senior management team to help them achieve their aspirations and goals. I understand the draining effect of wondering how the wages are going to be met, worrying how supplies are going to be paid for, and stressing about how to deal with creditors, especially key stakeholders (HMRC, funders and suppliers in particular).
